What happened to Missy Elliot's comeback?

Missy Elliot was supposed to release her long-awaited comeback album in 2012 but after releasing the singles 9th Inning and Triple Threat (produced by Timbaland), it seems that her comeback has been put on hold.

I love Missy Elliot so I was really excited about her coming back to the rap scene. The female rap scene is missing real rap at the moment which is probably why the comebacks of Lil' Kim and Missy Elliot are awaited. But after listening to her singles 9th Inning and Triple Threat, Missy should return to the studio and without Timbaland. Both 9th Inning and Triple Threat sound like outdated 2006 tracks which should have been on Missy's The Cookbook instead.

I think that Timbaland is one of the most talented producers but he clearly does not know that it is 2013, not 2003. Just because his hits with Missy were hot back then does not mean they will break the charts in 2013 which is why 9th Inning and Triple Threat both flopped on the charts. During a Usteam, Timbaland revealed that he fully produced Missy's upcoming album himself. But if the album sounds like 9th Inning and Triple Threat then perhaps Missy's comeback will not impact any time soon.

Missy please work other producers for this album because its not your lyrics, but the producer.

  1. The only reason why she havient release this alumb, is due to the fact that her record label is putting her in the background, and they havient camed up with a solid marketing/promotion campaign for this alumb

  2. Yes, this is true, I believe she has what it takes to make a come back, unlike Lil Kim (not a diss) because she thinks today's game is like it used to be and that's incorrect. Today you need a modern pop sound and massive marketing appeal. Today's artists HAVE to appeal worldwide and generate bankable music tours. Today is about public exposure not CD sales.

  3. Thanks very much, everyone! We had a brilliant time, but I'm kind of glad it's gone now!
Thank you, The Boy and Me, really appreciate what you say about my writing :) I take a lot of pride in it both on my blog and in work adventure sport nq.
No idea how we broke our sledges really, Actually Mummy. They were a bit flimsy, we were going fast, they hit bumps. We did it a few times and suddenly the sledges were broken! We are so going to re-stock for next year! I think we need five sledges next time
